Chief Operating Officer – Queensland Museum

Queensland Museum Network is one of the leading destinations for tourists and residents in Queensland. Utilising national leading facilities across the state, they look to enhance commercial and community opportunities through inspiring generations to discover, celebrate and value the natural and cultural environment of Queensland. As part of their continued drive to be the premier Museum network in Australia they are seeking to appoint a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) to enhance their ability to connect our history with our communities.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the role will be responsible for the overall commercial direction and business operations of the state-wide Museum network. The role will work closely with the Board, senior executives, staff and community to lead the network through significant opportunities for reform and commercial development. The core objective of the role is to ensure that the Queensland Museum Network is a vibrant, flexible and responsive organisation that operates in an ethically and commercially viable manner. The COO will work to foster close working relationships with other museums, governments and statutory bodies to ensure delivery of services across the network. The role will also look to harness the capacity of the staff of the Museum network to unleash new commercial and developmental opportunities across the state.

This role will suit a commercially astute leader with business acumen and a credible history of successfully leading organisations that service the community within a strong governance environment. You will have proven success in driving change and structural improvement as well as the ability to enhance commercial outcomes within a public service environment.
