Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to outstanding management of its extensive collections and the staff and volunteers who tell the Museum’s stories. We are looking for a Collections and Research Support Coordinator for the coordination and organization of projects, funding development and research initiatives within Collections and Research aiding the Director and ‘Heads of’. Support and maintain clear relations between directorates to help facilitate projects. No matter what, you will always be the epitome of professionalism and efficiency, always seeking out new and better ways of working.

Within this role, you will need to be extremely well organised – be one step ahead, able to pre-empt the needs of the Collections and Research directorate, be proactive, and be able to keep a high energy. This is a very autonomous Coordinator role, you will need to be: result driven, adheres to high standards and expectations, thinks quickly on your feet, solution orientated, and applies a sense of urgency, team player, professional and highly competent. This role reports directly to the Head of Human History.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have two year’s project support and co-ordination experience. Your role will be critical to making sure things happen how, and when, they should. You’ll be the one tracking and reporting, preparing documentation, keeping a record of the project expenditure and ensuring processes are in place. Your ability to manage multiple demands concurrently will be something you take pride in.

You’re going to be working with a range of different people across the museum and externally for Research relationships. You’ll be arranging meetings, preparing correspondence, compiling presentations and ensuring everyone is aware of deadlines and deliverables.

Last, but not least, our cultural landscape is really important to us. You’ll have an understanding of the principles and practices of the Treaty of Waitangi. As well as a proactive approach towards, and awareness of, our wide range of cultures and associated protocol and traditions (He Korahi Maori).
