Responsibilities of the position
The person selected for the position will work on a range of digital projects under the broad direction of the Manager, Digital:
- Establish small project teams to work on digital products for both in-exhibition display and online delivery.
- Project manage the delivery and installation of the production of digital products (digital interactives within exhibitions and online products).
- Manage contracts with third party suppliers and report any issues or risks to the Manager, Digital.
- Scope the product requirements and monitor their delivery to meet deadlines within budget. This includes user research, developing requirements and managing all stages of development including specifications, interface and experience design, and iteration through launch, alpha and beta phases.
- Perform thorough quality assurance testing on delivered products to ensure they meet the requirements, including assessing these against user needs, best practice and industry standards.
- Manage budgets and delivery schedules relating to individual outputs you are responsible for and report their status to the Manager, Digital.
- Maintain an excellent level of project administration in line with the Museum’s record management policy and project management methodology.
- Ensure that you have sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to undertake your work safely.
- Have a sound understanding of, and demonstrated commitment to, the principles of workplace diversity and workplace health and safety.
Selection criteria
Applicants must respond to each of the following selection criteria in their application:
- Proven experience coordinating the production of high quality digital products for delivery in a physical space and online.
- Demonstrated experience delivering high quality projects on time and within budget, including managing resources, schedules, budgets and priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a multidisciplinary team in the development and implementation of high quality digital products both online and in an exhibition space, including contract management of third party suppliers.
- Demonstrated application of good conceptual and analytical skills to develop briefs and tender documents for the production of creative user-focused digital products.
- Proven creativity and innovative experience in the creation of digital experiences and products with an emphasis on innovation and user engagement.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to understand complex technical issues and explain them in meaningful terms to diverse colleagues and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated high-level analytical skills and proven ability to think and act strategically in order to meet corporate goals.
