Position Description

Museum Victoria is seeking a Project Manager to deliver a range of projects for the Exhibitions department at all three museums, including incoming and outbound touring exhibitions, displays, Planetarium shows, multimedia productions, gallery refreshments and object changeovers

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The position is accountable for ensuring that all assigned projects meet set objectives and are completed on time, on budget and to the highest quality in consultation with stakeholders.

Key Selection Criteria: 

  1. Demonstrated project management and planning skills including proven ability to set priorities, manage timelines, budgets, resources and compliance requirements (including OHS).
  2. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the development and delivery of exhibitions, multimedia projects, orientation and way finding projects or other major visitor experiences, preferably in a science centre, museum, arts organisation or visitor attraction environment.
  3. Demonstrated staff management experience and the capacity to work flexibly in a multi-function team and provide leadership that fosters a co-operative and collegiate approach.
  4. Sound industry networks and a proven ability to apply high level communication, negotiation and presentation skills to engage a broad range of stakeholders, individuals and community groups.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to influence colleagues and advocate, on behalf of identified audiences, to ensure that visitor and operational needs are met at Museum Victoria.
  6. Demonstrated understanding of visitor needs and quality standards applicable to the exhibition and museum sector.
  7. The successful incumbent is required to obtain a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).
