A catalyst for creative expression and curious minds

The Museum of Applied Arts and Science (MAAS) is Australia’s contemporary museum for excellence and innovation in applied arts and sciences and is uniquely placed to use its collections, disciplines and ideas to demonstrate how applied arts and sciences impact Australia and the world.

MAAS are currently looking to increase their casual pool of Technicians to ensure responsive service is maintained during a particularly busy period for exhibitions and events.

The Technician (Casual) role sits within the broader Digital & Technology department and directly within the Media Technologies unit. This unit provides digital, electronic, audio and visual implementation, operations, maintenance and support to ensure that MAAS on-site experiences (venues, exhibition technologies, interactive elements and public areas) across all sites are of the highest standard. This role will be expected to undertake some weekend and evening work.

As the AV Technician (Casual) you will install, configure, operate and maintain audio visual (AV), lighting, digital and electronic media equipment to ensure the efficient and effective operation of visitor, program and event experiences across our venues, theatres, studios, exhibitions and public spaces.

This involves assisting with the delivery, maintenance and support of quality AV exhibition, program and event experiences, setting up and operating AV and lighting equipment to support performance and events; and supporting on-going care, maintenance and security of Museum AV equipment used in our exhibitions and venues.  Some evening and weekend work will be required.
