The South Australian Museum is seeking a suitably qualified person to take on the role of Collection Manager for the Foreign Ethnology section of the Anthropology Collections. In addition to managing the collections to a high conservation standard the role will include facilitating public and research access to the collections, arranging object loans and preparing collection items for exhibition.

Successful applicants will have experience working with heritage collections including documentation, retrieval and tracking of objects their related data and the ability to manage collections in a manner that promotes their long-term wellbeing. The capacity to liaise with colleagues from other sections and staff from different institutions, as well as coordinate volunteers, researchers, students and visitors within the store. A flexible approach to the workplace is essential and knowledge of the relevant discipline and relational database systems is desirable.
