A small southeast Queensland primary school has found one huge moth.

The find inspired the students at Mt Cotton State School to write some apocalyptic literature.

But what is this monster moth?

Meagan Steward is principal of Mt Cotton State School and Dr Christine Lambkin is the head of entomology at Queensland Museum.
