South Australian Museum releases Research and Collections blueprint, South Australian Museum, 28 August 2026
A blueprint for the future of research and collections at the South Australian Museum has been launched at a gathering of researchers, collection managers and preservation specialists in Adelaide today.
The release of the South Australian Museum Research Strategy and Collection Management Plan marks the completion of the actions taken by the Museum in response to the Premier’s Review of the South Australian Museum.
The review was initiated by the State Government in 2024 in response to public concerns about the future direction of the Museum.
Following extensive public consultation, a new Strategic Plan for 2025-2030 for the Museum was launched in December 2025 and the research and collection blueprint finalises the Museum’s response to the review.
