About the Australian Museum
The Australian Museum (AM) operates within the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. The AM is the first museum in Australia and was founded in 1827. The AM provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. The AM holds more than 21 million objects of biological, geological and cultural collections and develops programs, exhibitions and school and community education initiatives onsite, online and offsite. The AM’s purpose is to make nature, Indigenous cultures and science accessible and relevant to everyone.
About the role
The Creative Producer, Adult Audiences is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of a broad range of innovative and engaging public programs, developed through best-practice methodologies for museum audiences. The role includes the coordination of expert talks, workshops, music, live performances, after-hours events, and offsite outreach projects that bring AM’s exhibitions and collections to life.

Essential Requirements
As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate:
- Demonstrated experience in the arts and cultural sector including planning and delivering a diverse range of programs, events and initiatives
- Comprehensive knowledge of the arts and cultural sector, artists, performers and agencies.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders. - Ability to work on several simultaneous projects and manage competing deadlines.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Event Management, Creative Industries, History or Science.
- Hold a valid NSW Working with Children clearance.
- Knowledge and experience in order to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description.
