Collection Storage and Logistics Officer
Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a highly enthusiastic and practically skilled person to join its Collection Storage and Logistics team.

Museums Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Melbourne and the World Heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building.
Museum Victoria also operates discrete storage areas in Spotswood and Coburg.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the position will be to assist in the implementation of The Museum’s Collection Storage Upgrade Project.
This project will involve a major relocation of Collection material to a newly established collection store in Spotswood, significant storage system upgrades at The Museums off-site storage facility in Coburg and the construction of collection storage crates, pallets, stillages and storage systems.
The position will primarily be based at Museums Victoria’s off-site storage facility in Coburg and will also be required to undertake activities at its storage facility in Spotswood as well as at Scienceworks and Melbourne Museum.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake a national police check.
Notable skills and experiences:
- Museum object handling skills.
- Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools is essential.
- A forklift and scissor lift licence and experience driving a light truck are all highly desirable.
