We are seeking to establish a Pool of Visitor Service Officers for vacancies that may arise within the next 18 months at the Museum of the Great Southern, with the possibility of Casual, Fixed-term, Part-time, Full-time, and Permanent appointments.
As a measure to achieve equality under section 66ZP of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, the Museum is committed to increasing youth representation in the workforce. Therefore, young people (24 years and under) who meet the requirements of the position, may be prioritised for appointment.

About the role
The role of the Visitor Services Officer (VSO) is to provide a welcoming environment and high-quality experience for visitors to the Museum of the Great Southern. The VSOs ensure the safety of visitors and staff within the Museum, as well as the security of the Museum collection.

The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Relish working in a customer service environment.
- Provide a high level of visitor engagement through tours, technology, and interpretive programs.
- Support retail activities.
- Support public events and functions through either the event set-up and/or pack down.
- Provide a high standard of security and safety for visitors and the Museum precinct.
