The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool, the Australian Centre for Rare Trades and Arts and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. It cares for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and protects the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush.
We are an Australian tourism icon that attracts some 500,000 visitors annually. The Outdoor Museum is internationally renowned as a living museum featuring rare trades, and programs and experiences that interpret a pivotal point in Australia’s history. In all, some 350 staff work to bring our gold-rush story to life. They are supported by over 250 volunteers.
About the Role
The Payroll and Roster Administration Officer manages the Sovereign Hill roster system (Humanforce) and works with the payroll provider to ensure accurate, efficient payroll services. The role requires strong attention to detail, independence, and collaboration with managers, employees, HR, Finance, and external stakeholders to maintain seamless workforce operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of understanding of the Humanforce Rostering System, acting as a super user and being responsible for correct and accurate data within the program.
- Be the key point of contact with Sovereign Hill’s outsourced payroll provider.
- Perform weekly, monthly and annual payroll and timesheet related processes and tasks.
- Ensure manager or employee payroll queries are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.
- Review calculations of termination payment, back pays etc. ensuring compliance with contracts, Enterprise Agreements and relevant legislation.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in processing payroll for multirole and multi-rate teams
- Understanding of payroll and rostering system
- A Diploma of Payroll Management or Finance equivalent is desired but not necessary
