Geraldine Kendall Adams, MA members vote in favour of revised Code of Ethics, Museums Association, 7 October 2025
Updated code passes at AGM in Cardiff with large majority.
The Museums Association’s (MA) revised Code of Ethics has been passed with a majority at its Annual General Meeting, which took place today during its annual conference in Wales.
The Code of Ethics for Museums provides a framework for the practical application of ethical considerations to everyday work in museums and reflects a contract of trust between museums and the public.
The last update to the Code of Ethics took place in 2015. A notable change to the 2025 version is its new structure and principles, which are based on the guiding values of being equitable and inclusive, transparent and accountable, and responsible and sustainable.
