Powerhouse

We’re looking for two assistant curators with experience in a museum or equivalent to join the Collection Curatorial team and be part of Powerhouse’s transformational renewal. One role sits within the applied sciences team, and the ideal candidate will have knowledge of one or more of the following areas – transport, health and medicine, science, engineering or technology. The other role sits within the applied arts team and requires knowledge or experience of one or more of the following areas – design, decorative arts, fashion, social history, music, performance or visual communication. As Assistant Curator, you will provide support to the Collection Curatorial team across a range of projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

About Powerhouse

Through the renewal and across its platforms, Powerhouse will redefine museums in the 21st century by renegotiating the terms of engagement with communities, radically returning to and reckoning with its legacy as a museum of industry and fortifying its vital role in the cultural and economic ecosystems of NSW, Australia and the world. The Powerhouse, one of Australia’s oldest and most important cultural institutions, continues the delivery of its renewal program across its five platforms, Powerhouse Parramatta, Powerhouse Ultimo, Powerhouse Castle Hill, Sydney Observatory and Powerhouse Digital, our space to tell stories and provide new levels of access to the Powerhouse Collection of over 500,000 objects.
