About Eureka Prizes  

The Australian Museum has presented the Eureka Prizes, Australia’s premier national science awards program, since 1990. The Australian Museum Eureka Prizes reward excellence in the fields of research and innovation, science leadership, school science and science journalism and communication.

About the Role  

As the Project Officer, Eureka Prizes, you will be supporting the Manager of the Eureka Prizes to deliver this annual program. The day-to-day activities of the role involve being responsible for office administration; client customer service and enquiries; all marketing and promotions (including website and social media management), and associated research; finalist liaison; and event management.

In addition, the Project Officer assists the Manager, Eureka Prizes in the facilitation of the judging panels, development of prize categories, sponsor and contractor liaison, program evaluation, whilst contributing to the strategic priorities of the program.

About you 

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with experience providing administrative and project management support. Their areas of experience may include but are not limited to marketing, sponsorships and partnerships, social media, office operations, or event coordination. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to support the successful delivery of an established program, excel in communicating and liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Knowledge and experience

  •  Experience in project management, including coordinating multiple projects within set parameters and budgets, and evaluation to ensure ongoing successful delivery
  •  Considerable experience in event management including liaising with contractors and suppliers to ensure high standard of delivery
  •  Experience in delivering a high standard of customer service and communications with a diverse range of stakeholders

 

Essential requirements

  •  Tertiary qualifications (or comparable work experience) in project management/event/science/communications or related field
