ABOUT THE POSITION:
This opportunity is rare; the opportunity to join a world-class cultural organisation in Melbourne. Reporting to one of our Marketing Managers, you will develop and implement integrated communications strategies to engage and build specific audiences (local, regional, interstate, international) across Museum Victoria’s network of museums including Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre and the Royal Exhibition Building with a focus on bought, earned and owned media and marketing channels.
With a strong understanding of all key marketing channels as well as new and emerging platforms to test and utilise, you will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to lead the successful development and implementation of integrated marketing strategies that use audience research to effectively engage and build specific audiences across MV’s network of museums and venues and support overall visitation and revenue targets.
Some of the key duties include:
- Planning, developing and implementing targeted promotional campaigns and brand communications to support cross-functional teams
- Content planning and execution across bought, owned and shared channels developing integrated digital marketing plans, including development of eDMs, web content, organic and paid social media
- Develops briefs on campaigns for design agencies and media agencies as well as options for discussion and consideration by senior stakeholders
- Preparing and analysing post campaign reports, including ROI/commercial return reports to support decision making for existing and future campaigns
- Managing budgets, negotiating with suppliers and monitoring spend to achieve ROI.
The successful applicant will have:

- The ability to juggle multiple projects, budget lines and campaigns simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while navigating the needs of a diverse team. They’ll be a strong, self-driven go-getter; a systematic, collaborative marketer with a strong work ethic.
- Strong multi-channel marketing strategic and implementation experience with an extensive understanding of advertising media buys – how to effectively pulse and structure a campaign for maximum reach, engagement and ultimately, visitation and revenue.
