Powerhouse

Our Technology team is seeking a skilled Senior Engineer to lead and support critical enterprise technology services across software development, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise application operations.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role based full time in the office, operating across delivery and live operations within a complex multi-vendor digital ecosystem. The position plays a key role in delivering strategic technology initiatives while maintaining ownership of the ongoing stability, support, and performance of production systems.

You will work across development, infrastructure, integration, and operational support functions, ensuring enterprise platforms remain secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned to business needs.

Key Challenges

  • Operating across the full stack from front-end frameworks to cloud infrastructure to enterprise backend systems without the luxury of deep specialisation in any single layer
  • Balancing active delivery commitments with ongoing operational support responsibilities across a growing portfolio of live systems that wills see you diagnosing and resolving production incidents that cross system and vendor boundaries under time pressure in a 24/7 museum operations context.
  • Design and build full-stack features across front-end and back-end layers, integrate with enterprise APIs from OpenAPI specifications, including typed client generation, error handling, and retry logic
  • Translating deep technical issues into clear language for business application owners, senior leadership, and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Implement authentication and identity flows including OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SSO, and cross-domain session management
  • Build and maintain serverless functions and event-driven processing workflows

About You

Success in this role requires strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You will be an effective communicator while working closely with business owners, vendors, delivery teams, and operational stakeholders to translate technical issues into clear outcomes, manage expectations, and ensure services remain aligned to business priorities.

You bring experience across:

  • Software engineering and enterprise applications
  • Cloud infrastructure and platform operations
  • Production support and incident management
  • System integrations and vendor-managed environments
