Exhibition Technician – Mechanical Fitter/Cabinet Maker

We are currently seeking a highly creative and hands-on Exhibition Technician who will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, preparation, and installation of permanent, temporary, and travelling exhibitions.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and prepare exhibitions by creating practical solutions to design challenges.
  • Complete work requests by identifying and undertaking required maintenance and repair activities.
  • Maintain and clean workshop areas, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Support the deinstallation and removal of exhibitions in accordance with project requirements.
  • Record, document, and archive exhibition information and materials to maintain accurate records.

 

Who are we looking for? 

We are seeking an individual who is an adaptable tradesperson with excellent attention to detail, and a genuine passion for building, creating and problem-solving.

Other skills and experience required include:

  • Creative, out of the box thinker.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
  • Possess a wide range of manual skills, painting, woodwork/carpentry, metalwork, and plastics technology. (desirable)
  • Experience in Computer Numerical Contract (CNC) programming utilisation or 3D Printing (desirable)

 

Qualifications and Licences required:

  • Trade qualifications in either Mechanical Fitting/Fitter Machinist, Cabinet Maker, Carpentry, Metal Fabrication or similar
  • Minimum 2 years post trade experience.
  • Drivers Licence
  • National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Work Safely at Heights qualification (desirable)
  • Forklift license (desirable)
