Help contribute to the culture and arts sector’s capacity for climate action

Creative Climate is launching Green Team, a new pilot program designed to grow climate action capacity from within the arts and culture sector. EOI’s for the pilot program are now open.

Building on what we’ve heard from artists, producers, technicians, venues and organisations nationwide — that real change needs trusted peers and practical guidance, not just more information — we’re inviting 5–7 experienced arts producers and production workers to a three-day residential retreat at Common Ground, Seymour, Victoria from 25-27 November.

The training is co-designed and led by Erica McCalman and Matt Wicking, with contributions from others in the Creative Climate consortium.

Participants will explore practical frameworks and approaches drawn from Creative Climate’s collective expertise, with the aim of embedding climate action into everyday practice across organisations, productions, festivals, venues and creative communities.

Who is it for?

Active arts producers and technicians, mid-career and beyond, from anywhere in Australia’s culture and arts sector — working independently, or within organisations, festivals, venues, local government or cultural institutions. Ideal applicants are committed to climate justice and caring for Country, curious and generous in sharing knowledge, well-networked, and able to commit to the full three days and bring learnings back to their organisation and field.

Creative Climate strongly encourages applications from First Nations people, LGBTQIA+, d/Deaf, disabled, culturally and linguistically diverse people, and others from equity-denied communities or facing structural barriers in the arts.
