ABOUT THE POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative and operational support to the marketing and media teams across Museums Victoria’s three museums, the Royal Exhibition Building and Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre. The position is accountable for supporting the Marketing and Communications Department and ensuring the smooth running of the team on a day-to-day basis.
Working under the guidance of the Marketing Manager, you will manage marketing and promotion plans for small-scale programs, draft tactical plans and implement tactics across multiple channels — on-site, social, digital and other. Some of the key duties include:
- Assist the marketing team in the delivery of marketing outputs.
- Manage marketing and promotion plans for small-scale programs, including drafting tactical plans and implementing tactics across multiple channels.
- Provide administration support to the Marketing and Communications Department, including managing the Brand and Media inboxes, invoicing, budget tracking, reporting and the development of marketing materials.
- Prepare drafts of copy and assets for audience-focused promotional and communications material.
- Implement, update and monitor marketing communications across channels including eDMs, website, influencer engagement and social media.
The successful applicant will have:
- Proven administration skills and the ability to coordinate tasks and work to many simultaneous and competing deadlines.
- A proven understanding of marketing practices, including the ability to write, edit and produce marketing and media copy for paid advertising, social, web and other collateral.
- A demonstrated, strong understanding of communication channels such as social media and other digital marketing channels.
- A high level of professionalism, initiative, attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to effectively develop and nurture internal and external relationships with stakeholder groups and agencies.
OTHER INFORMATION
This is an ongoing, full-time position. The salary on offer is Grade 2, Value Range 1 – $62,104 per annum, pro rata + 12% Superannuation.
