Scitech Awarded International Award for Science Communication

Scitech has taken home an international award for science communication, 2026

Members of the Scitech team recently travelled to Bangkok for the Asia Pacific Network of Science and Technology Centres (ASPAC) 2026 Conference, where they joined science centres, museums and science engagement professionals from around the world to share ideas, learn from international peers and build new connections.

A highlight was seeing Scitech recognised with a Creative Science Communication Award for Mission: SPACE. Delivered by Scitech and powered by the Australian Space Agency in 2025, the program encouraged students to explore the possibilities of a space career, while also building skills through an engineering challenge, professional learning for teachers, and series of virtual excursions – achieving 64,000 student and teacher engagements across Australia.

This international recognition is a fantastic acknowledgement of the creativity, collaboration and impact of Mission: SPACE. Congratulations to everyone who helped bring the program to life, including the many industry experts who generously shared their expertise through the virtual excursions.
