You will be part of the QMN Project Management Office (PMO), and involved in a range of portfolio and program management functions. You will be a strong advocate for the adoption of the PM methodology across the Network and be involved in the development of a master program schedule for planning and resource management and portfolio reporting. You will also assist with the development of PM strategies, methodology improvements and training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a master schedule/s (a new tool) comprising individual project schedules in MS Project. This is to help with project planning and resource allocation. You will help project managers in building individual project plans, and schedules and oversee their integration into network operations.
  • Develop and maintain a PM data repository (Sharepoint site) and PM standard documentation. You will trial proposed PM systems, including an on-line reporting and data collection system.
  • Show leadership in the application of project management methodology (based on PRINCE 2), and mentor and assist QMN staff seeking project management advice. Support for PM’s will include delivery of internal training and open forum sessions.
  • Help develop project management and business processes to support the implementation of the PM methodology across the network and to link to existing business functions and processes including finance and IT.
  • Contribute to the safety culture of QMN by reporting all incidents and hazards and ensuring work is undertaken in the safest way possible, following all QMN WHS policies/procedures and guidelines relevant to the job. Undertake all relevant responsibilities identified in the QMN WHS Accountabilities and Responsibilities Matrix.
