Duties
The Large Technology Conservator/Machinist will contribute to the preservation of large technology items (vehicles, aircraft, artillery and other similarly large objects) in the National Collection. The position operates as part of a multi-disciplinary team and requires demonstrated experience in machining, engineering and materials conservation. The position requires high level organisational and technical skills and attention to detail to utilise and interpret physical evidence in conservation and fabrication processes. The position is based at the Treloar Technology Centre, Mitchell ACT.
Notes
Trade qualifications in fitting and machining are required. Experience in fabrication and large technology conservation are required. Professional qualifications or experience in materials conservation are highly desirable. Forklift and elevated work platform licences are highly desirable.
