A unique institution at the heart of Melbourne’s iconic meeting place, Federation Square, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is Australia’s national museum of film, TV, videogames, digital culture and art. Welcoming over 1.45m visitors in 2015/16, ACMI is the most visited museum of the moving image in the world and the third most visited museum in Australia.

To support ACMI’s creative vision across our exhibition program we have a brilliant role for an experienced Curator with a depth of knowledge across film, TV, screen and digital arts to help deliver our curatorial framework and identify and craft the core stories only ACMI can tell. This contract role is an opportunity to build your museum and gallery career in an organisation focused on audience advocacy, digital culture and community engagement.

You will join ACMI, bringing with you a proven track record of developing major cultural exhibitions, focused on high quality visitor experiences with excellent curatorial rigour that achieve audience outcomes. Your value will come from your ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team, your experience of working with a range of artists and creative technologists as well as an appreciation for audience data and prototyping to refine curatorial thinking.
