The Account Manager sits within the newly created External Engagement Team at Sovereign Hill Museums Association.  The Account Manager position reports directly to the Sales & Engagement Manager. 

This role is responsible for identify sales opportunities and maximising the potential value of inbound queries. The role would be ideal for someone with a strong or emerging understanding of tourism distribution networks or with account manager skills who is eager to learn the industry. The Account Manager will also be required to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate customer service processes and scripts for internal use as well as third party websites and distributors. The successful applicant will be required to host a range of client and media functions as well as represent the Organisation at trade and industry events. Additional requirements include. establishing and growing key stakeholder relationships and audience segments to maximise lead conversion and the ability to nurture existing relationships and manage listings and sales agreements with inbound tour operators and third-party distributors with the purpose of maximising value.

This position is primarily Monday-Friday but requires the successful applicant to have the flexibility to work outside of business hours and on weekends where required.

The successful applicant must have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Sound understanding of the principals and processes of customer engagement
  • Sound understanding of tourism markets both domestic and international or willingness to learn
  • Robust organisational skills including proven ability to multi-task and attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • A strong sense of responsibility coupled with a tendency to apply initiative and get results
  • An understanding of financial processes and responsibilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines and time frames.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including the use of inventory management software, email, Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Required to provide proof of COVID vaccination.
