ACMI hosting Museum Next

Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI).

ACMI to host first Australian edition of the ground breaking Museum Next conference, Creative Victoria, 26 January 2017

ACMI is set to host Museum Next from 15-17 February, the world’s leading conference on the future of museums.

The conference is an unmissable opportunity for local industry to be inspired by the latest innovations taking place within the museum and gallery sector, and to forge invaluable connections with international peers. It will also provide over 250 delegates with first hand experiences of Victoria’s vibrant cultural industry.

The three day conference is regarded as a catalyst for change in the sector, showcasing the best in museum practice today and imagining the museum of tomorrow.

International sector leaders joining their Australian counterparts at this conference will come from 14 countries, representing institutions such as SF MOMA, Tate, Smithsonian Asia Pacific American Centre, The Nordic Museum, National Media Museum (UK) and the Internet Archive.

Delegates will engage in future thinking on audiences, collections, technology and trends at what is the most significant conference for cultural institutions today.

Taking place annually in Europe since 2009 and in North America since 2015, the conference comes to Melbourne for the first time in 2017 with the support of ACMI.
