About the Australian Museum

The Australian Museum (AM) operates within the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.  The AM is the first museum in Australia and was founded in 1827. The AM provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. The AM holds more than 21 million objects of biological, geological and cultural collections and develops programs, exhibitions and school and community education initiatives onsite, online and offsite. The AM’s purpose is to make nature, Indigenous cultures and science accessible and relevant to everyone.

About the role

The role provides a range of executive, secretarial and administrative services to support the Senior Executive Assistant and the Director & CEO in achieving organisational objectives. The role also liaises with other internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Office of the Director & CEO and Public Affairs & Development division and is an active participant in Museum projects.

Essential Requirements

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate:

  1. Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite products.
  2. Appropriate tertiary or other qualifications.
  3. Relevant administrative professional experience in order to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description.
  4. Experience with HPE Content Manager and SAP (desirable).
  5. Availability to attend after hours events as required.
  6. Adequate knowledge and experience in order to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in the Role Description.
