About the Opportunity:
We currently have an exciting traineeship position available for someone wanting to launch a long-term career in Arts Administration. The trainee will work part-time (15 hours per week) for our Host Employer, Museums Australia, in the national office which is based at the National Museum of Australia, Canberra.

In this position, you will be legally employed by ArtsReady and undertake a traineeship with an accredited Certificate III Business qualification. The successful trainee will receive paid on the job training and fully funded education.

About Museums Australia:
Established in 1993, Museums Australia is an advocate for museums and galleries, their collections and the people who work in them. The association is a national membership body working through a network of state and territory branches, networks of interest groups, the national office and an elected Council.

Museums Australia is the national organisation for the museums sector, committed to the conservation, continuation and communication of Australia’s heritage.

As a non-government, not-for-profit body, Museums Australia promotes museum sector development, articulates ethical standards, facilitates training, advances knowledge, addresses issues, advocates on behalf of the sector and raises public awareness through its national and international networks.

Duties/ Responsibilities of Trainee at Museums Australia:
Museums Australia will be hosting an ArtsReady trainee who will work and learn in the role of an Administration Officer. The Administration Officer will provide administrative support through the performance of established general administrative tasks under the direction and supervision of the MA National Office Manager.

The successful applicant will be an energetic and enthusiastic all-rounder who is looking to learn many administration skills. The Administration Officer has an important role both internally within Museums Australia and externally to facilitate the organisation’s work.
