ASSA’s State of the Social Sciences 2021

State of the Social Sciences 2021, Academy of the Social Sciences, February 2021

The State of the Social Sciences Report 2021 is a 12-month project led by the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia to take stock of social science disciplines in Australia and plan for their future.

From how its taught in schools, to the resources and infrastructure supporting university research, to what social science graduates bring to the workplace and economy, this report will provide Australia with a clear understanding of the current state and capability of Australian social science. It will also discuss key opportunities and challenges for the sector over the coming years.

The final report will provide a foundation for the Academy’s efforts to ensure Australia has the policy settings, funding, and infrastructure that support and enable world-class education and research in the social sciences.
