The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) is Australia’s contemporary museum for excellence and innovation in applied arts and sciences and is uniquely placed to demonstrate how technology, engineering, science and design impact Australia and the world.

The primary purpose of this role is to assist and undertake preventative conservation, conservation treatment, exhibition installations, restoration programs and projects in accordance with international best practice ensuring optimal internal and external access to the collections.

Your application must include the following:

Question 1 – Give a specific example where you compromised in order to balance the need for object access and display with those of security and preservation. What steps did you take? Explain how you might ensure optimal access to the collection.

Question 2 – Provide a recent example demonstrating your commitment to research and the deployment of new technologies and methodologies in the conservation of objects.
