The Place
The Australian War Memorial combines a shrine, a world-class museum, and an extensive archive, and is currently planning a substantial expansion of existing gallery spaces, a new southern extension, an atrium (glazed link), and an enhanced Anzac Hall.
The Role
Working at the centre of the Gallery Development Team with experienced museum industry professionals, you will be:
- developing, interpreting and applying the Gallery Development Plans
- undertaking research and analysis of the National Collection
- assessing content in order to describe collection items
- handling, storing and displaying collection material
- liaising and negotiating with donors and key stakeholders
You
You will be a professional in history or museum and curatorial studies and have experience working with a military history collection to develop exhibition content. You will have research and analytical skills, work well in a team, be organised and efficient and be able to communicate well with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
