As Assistant Curator, Queensland Stories you will work with a small team to manage and develop the social history collections of Queensland Museum. Highly professional and results-driven, the successful applicant will be a superior communicator with the ability to thrive in a dynamic cultural work environment. Bringing to the role an understanding of contemporary curatorial practice and experience in collection-based research, you will contribute to the collaborative research, public programs and exhibitions in accordance with the strategic priorities of the Queensland Museum. Collection database and exhibition experience are highly desirable.

Employment screening criminal history, a Working with Children (Blue Card), and a previous discipline history check will be undertaken.

A tertiary qualification in Australian Social History or another closely related discipline (e.g. Contemporary Women’s Studies, Australian Studies, Cultural Studies, Museum Studies, Australian historical archaeology) or an equivalent qualification, as determined by the CEO of the Queensland Museum, is required.
