Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to coordinate the delivery of designated facilities services for the Scienceworks Museum Precinct.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The position is accountable for ensuring that the Scienceworks Museum Precinct’s buildings, grounds, and services are maintained and operate at a level which is fit for purpose, safe and sustainable.
Notable skills and experiences:
The successful applicant will have:
- A current understanding of workplace Occupational Health and Safety; including associated regulations and legislation.
- Demonstrated problem solving and customer service skills which can be applied to the co-operative achievement of building maintenance projects and issues.
- Demonstrated ability to represent the organisation’s interests when negotiating with contractors, consultants and others regarding repairs and maintenance and minor capital works.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to produce business documents such as procurement documentation, reports and procedures.
- A demonstrable knowledge of project management principles and processes; including an ability to set priorities, organise and delegate tasks and take responsibility for own performance.
- Experience in the use and application of facilities or building management technologies.
- A working knowledge of software packages including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Exposure to AutoCAD would be an advantage.
- A current elevated work platform and forklift licence, or willingness & capacity to undertake relevant training and accreditation.
