Assistant Image Management Officer – Ian Potter Foundation Catching the Eye Wildlife Project at Museum Victoria

Through generous support from the Ian Potter Foundation, Museum Victoria is seeking an enthusiastic Image Management officer to provide image processing and metadata management services to the Catching the Eye: engaging the public through quality wildlife imagery. This two-year appointment will work closely with wildlife photographers and collections on-line staff in order to provide high quality wildlife imagery to MV and partner websites, national and international biodiversity aggregators (such as Atlas of Living Australia) and mobile device Apps in order to promote conservation of biodiversity.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY
The primary accountability of this position is the processing and management of wildlife images, including the preservation of intellectual property and data within MV Images (Museum Victoria’s Digital Asset Management System) to ensure the use of image resources by the Museum in projects such as exhibitions, publications, public programs, websites and public access occurs within the correct legislative framework.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of zoology an advantage but not essential
