The Assistant Manager in Education assists in the overall operational management of the development and delivery of onsite interpretive gallery programs to school groups and general visitors, and of outreach programs including online resource material, virtual excursions and the Memorial Box loans program.

Activities include: onsite and web based program development and delivery; recruitment; training of staff and volunteers; project management; and contributing to and implementing strategic direction for Education in accordance with the Memorial’s corporate priority to enhance the understanding of Australia’s experience of war and its enduring impact on Australian society.

Core Responsibilities

Under general direction:

  • Contribute to the management of Education operations including schools’ learning and public programs. This includes budgets, bookings and staffing, project task allocation and supervision.
  • Supervise the development of digital resources and virtual excursions in accordance with the Education web strategy and Australian curriculum requirements.
  • Develop, deliver and evaluate onsite and virtual programs and resources
  • Participate in Education strategic planning and outcomes evaluation, and coordinate the marketing and promotion of education products.
  • Assist in project concept development, scoping, management and reporting relating to sponsorship proposals and projects.
  • Represent the Memorial where appropriate in both internal and external forums.
  • Contribute to the overall operations of the section

Additional Requirements:

An Education qualification, or experience in education, public programs, and digital resource development in the cultural sector is required for this position.

A current Working with Vulnerable People registration is required for this position
