The Opportunity
As a part of our Collection Relocation Digitisation project, you will be working in the Logistics team on the relocation of the collection, currently stored in Ultimo, to the Museum Discovery Centre.
Key highlights of the role
- Assist the Registrars with relevant operational planning and contribute to the Museum’s strategic plan.
- Assist with the implementation of the Museum’s collection and collection-based information systems, according to professional museum standards.
- Maintain a high level of adherence to the collection management practise and procedures.
- In consultation with the Manager and Registrars, build and maintain external stakeholder relationships, including museums and galleries, government departments and other organisations, to advocate for MAAS.

What will it take?
We are looking for someone to join the team with the following attributes:
- Relevant degree or appropriate work experience.
Driver licence is essential or a willingness to obtain a licence. - Knowledge and experience in museum collection management and documentation is essential.
- Knowledge and experience of collection information systems, barcoding and digital photography.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality documentation and reports.
- Flexibility to adapt to, and learn, new technologies in a changing work environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of risk management and disaster preparedness.
- Experience in public sector is desirable.
