Conditions
We are seeking 1 (one) full-time permanent Assistant Curator, History – Specified Calling Level 1 as well as establishing a pool for Assistant Curator, History – Specified Calling Level 1.
This pool will run for a period of 18 months from the date after the review period closes. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool where appointments may be considered for similar vacancies for full-time, part-time, fixed-term or permanency.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
You must possess a degree in Australian History or a closely related field as well as primary research skills. An honours degree would be an advantage.
You must also possess a current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence or equivalent.
Job Description
As the Assistant Curator, History you will be required to:
- Assist with the collection, research, documentation and management of the History department’s collections, including the implementation of collecting projects.
- Assist with the development of public programs, including exhibitions in multi-disciplinary teams
- Engage with and respond to the public through public enquiries, and other public programs.
