About our short-term opportunities

The WA Museum is an exciting and vibrant place to work, and we occasionally have short-term (up to twelve months) employment opportunities available across a range of positions, which need to be filled at short notice.

We currently have casual positions available for immediate filling. Fixed Term (Full Time and Part Time) opportunities may be offered as positions become available for a period of up to twelve months.

About the role

The Visitor Services Officer position enhances the WA Museum’s public profile through the delivery of high-quality customer service and positive interaction with the public. The position delivers successful Museum exhibitions and programs by responding to visitor needs and enquiries, providing guided tours, and when required, assisting with public programs and the setup of special events.

On a regular basis, the Visitor Services Officer provides customer service to visitors from a range of ages and backgrounds including small children, school groups, older citizens, people with disabilities or special needs, and international visitors.

Eligibility to Apply

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

A Working with Children Check is also a requirement prior to the appointment to the position.
