We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a talented individual to join the Museum at a time when it is embarking on a major transformation with planning underway for the Museum’s longer term future in Parramatta. This represents a once in a generation opportunity to develop a twenty first century museum that responds to growth, and the changing shape of Sydney, and to contemporary methods of content delivery, learning and collaboration.
The purpose of this role is to ensure audience evaluation is integrated with content and marketing decisions in order to drive visitation to the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney Observatory and the Museums Discovery Centre. Your day to day responsibilities will include developing and implementing a program of qualitative and quantitative market research and evaluation, presenting research findings and developing systems and process to ensure finding are integrated into future decisions.
The successful candidate will have:
- Sound understanding of effective audience research in both marketing and leisure industries
- Academic qualifications and previous experience in Market Research or psychology.
- Sound quantitative expertise (eg. Questionnaire development, data analysis, statistical expertise)
- Ability to apply research insights to strategic recommendations
- Strong written skills in developing research briefs and preparing research reports
- Proven presentation and advocacy skills
