The Governance and Legal Services team undertakes governance, legal services and audience research functions for the Museum.  The team works with all business units across the Museum to ensure they are meeting legal, performance, auditing and/or other requirements relevant to their work.  The business unit also has a secretariat function for meetings of the Museum’s Council and its Committees, as well as its Corporate Management Group and Executive Management Group.

The Audience and Research Evaluation Manager is responsible for ensuring that audience research and evaluation findings and data analysis are used to ensure the Museum has the capability to target and enhance audience experiences through the full range of Museum programs including exhibitions, research, public programs, learning activities and other connections. They are also responsible for collating visitation statistics, developing performance targets for the Portfolio Budget Statements and corporate plan, reporting against the corporate plan and Departmental key performance indicators, and ad hoc visitation and related advice.

The successful candidate will bring extensive qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation experience to the Museum. They will have demonstrated experience developing research and evaluation programs, delivering projects and coordinating activities with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Strong planning skills and experience analysing data and developing and presenting reports to Executives will be required. The successful candidate will be able to work in close collaboration with other business units and staff and have strong written and oral communication skills.
