The Museum has several exciting opportunities to join our Media Services Business Unit as a casual Audio-Visual Technician to deliver a high level of customer and technical services at the Museum.
The positions are required to support the Media Services Multimedia Technician and assist with day-to-day operational running and support of the Museum’s multimedia and audio-visual exhibits, event, projects and applications. This involves both hands on support and operations, and liaison where required with third party contractors.
NOTE: These positions may work on a 7-day roster, which includes weekend shifts and public holidays and involves manual lifting
The key duties of the position include:
The successful candidates will be skilled in basic audio-visual system including audio, video and lighting. You will need to provide effective, efficient customer service and achieve agreed services levels. In addition to this you will also:
- perform standard technical event functions including the setup and pack down of equipment;
- provide routine operational support for the Museum’s numerous audio visual and multimedia exhibits according to an extended hours, 7-day/week schedule;
- assist the Manager, Media Operations in the day-to-day operations of the event, its associated peripherals and other operational needs;
- assist in Coordinate regular maintenance of the audio visual and multimedia by third-party service contractors;
- as part of a small team, develop skills to provide backup for other areas of the Operations team as required;
- ensure a safe, comfortable and clean environment for all customers and other team members;
- liaise with Museum staff;
- ensure that he/she has sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to undertake his/her work safely and that employees are provided with sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to enable them to perform their duties safely; and
- other duties as directed.
