The City of Launceston, an award winning Employer of Choice, is currently seeking to fill the following:

Position Title:        Audit Registrar (30.4 hours per week)

Position Number: POS1707

This role, covering a period of parental leave, is responsible for coordinating the registration and documentation of QVMAG collections in the electronic Collection Management System (CMS), in accordance with the Audit Plan.   Additionally, regular checks to ensure that all database work is at the highest standard and that audited collections are correctly located and properly stored will be required.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates, through behaviour, an alignment and an understanding of our values and has the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent museum or art gallery experience
  • Knowledge of practices and standards pertaining to the registration of collections within a museum or art gallery, including the management of collections and experience in the safe handling of objects
  • Demonstrated skills in accurate record keeping in manual and computer-based formats and knowledge and/or experience in museum cataloguing methods and the use of collection management software
  • Demonstrated excellent organisational skills, including exceptional project planning, the ability to work on several projects simultaneously, and organising and prioritising to meet deadlines under limited supervision
