Auckland War Memorial Museum: Connecting through sharing stories of people, lands and seas

Auckland Museum is a much-loved culture and heritage organisation at the heart of Auckland’s identity, committed to outstanding management of its world-class collections and the employees and volunteers who tell the Museum’s stories. We are Auckland’s home of commemoration as well as the country’s oldest research institution and a major tourist destination.

The role of Bequest Executive will be responsible for the development, delivery and growth of our bequest activity. Working in a busy team, success in this role will be achieved by generating and maintaining long term and genuine relationships with prospective as well as current supporters of the Museum. This is a permanent but part-time position, requiring 20 hours per week.

To be successful in this role, you will offer:

  • Proven successful management and delivery of a large bequest programme
  • A minimum of five years recent bequest experience
  • A commitment and passion for Auckland Museum and our donors
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Research, data and CRM experience
  • Strong sales and presentation skills with an absolute comfort working in the bequest arena
