The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for-profit community-based museum organisation that collects, researches and interprets the heritage of the Victorian gold rushes and the Ballarat region. The organisation includes Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Gold Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our education team as a school bookings officer. If you have a passion for business and an interest in providing unique learning experiences for schools, then this role could be for you!
With more than 100,000 students visiting our museum on an annual basis, the School Bookings Officer is a customer service specialist for the education market. The role is responsible for providing high-level support in the booking and itinerary development for excursions and camps across all museum sites, so as to deliver an immersive, tailored and meaningful learning experience for learners. The Incumbent must have high level customer service skills and maintain relationships with school clients and develop each personalised itinerary to each school’s needs.
The successful applicant must have:
- Experience in a sales and customer service role
- Experience with or willingness to learn about the education sector
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills with the proven ability to build rapport with customers
- Experience in handling customer feedback and complaints and an agility and flexibility in problem solving
- Demonstrated organisational skills including proven ability to multi-task, manage and prioritize ensuring attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively independently , collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a team/multiple teams
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including the use of inventory management software, email, word processing & Excel
Checks and Qualifications
- Certificate in Business Administration or similar is essential
- Police Check
- Employee Working With Children Check
- Fully Covid Vaccinated
