Museum Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues:  Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The position is accountable for the successful development and implementation of content marketing and communication activities that engage and build specific audiences across MV’s network of museums and venues.

Experience in the Education and Marketing space is highly desirable.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Proven networks, experience and extensive knowledge of the arts and culture and/or visitor attractions community;
  2. Proven understanding and experience of developing audience-focused content delivered across owned and earned digital media and marketing channels;
  3. Proven ability to generate positive media coverage including developing appropriate media angles and stories;
  4. Proven results working with emerging communication channels such as social media, bloggers and online;
  5. Superior written and verbal communication skills;
  6. An ability to effectively develop internal and external networks with stakeholder groups and agencies;
  7. Strong understanding of audience research;
  8. An ability to coordinate tasks and work to many competing deadlines;
  9. An ability to maintain confidentiality, communicates ideas succinctly, and represents the organisation effectively;
  10. An ability to work autonomously, as well as in cross-functional teams.
  11. A strong understanding of education and marketing.
  12. The successful applicant is required to undergo a Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost).
