Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events and educational programmes.
A full-time permanent position exists for a highly motivated Building Facilities Coordinator to join the Museum at an exciting time of redevelopment and renewal. The role is varied as is the working environment and will require enthusiasm, warmth and flexibility. You will work directly with the Head of Building and Building Infrastructure to provide team support, (four direct reports) maintenance and technical support for building and building infrastructure.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in planned and reactive maintenance of buildings and building services
- Proven ability to manage external contractors, ensuring standards and agreed service deliverables are achieved
- Technical know-how with relevant and proven technical skills
- An ability to manage specific building related capital projects including restoration aspects of an ‘A Category’ Heritage building
- An ability to work in a team environment
- Fully capable of leading a small team, to help enable them to deliver to their full potential
- An understanding of the principles of equal opportunities, diversity management and the Treaty of Waitangi as they relate to the Museum environment
- A current driver’s license
