Museums Victoria is seeking a Business Manager/Project Officer to provide high level business support to Public Engagement Business Manager. The primary responsibility of the Business Manager will be the management of the leasing of MV’s IT equipment. During this period 200+ new computers will be replaced throughout the Museum. This process is developed and administered primarily by the Business Manager with the Helpdesk and Desktop Manager, IT Helpdesk being responsible for the technical aspects of the upgrade.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Business Manager will be the management of the leasing of MV’s IT equipment. During this period 200+ new computers will be replaced throughout the Museum. This process is developed and administered primarily by the Business Manager with the Helpdesk and Desktop Manager, IT Helpdesk being responsible for the technical aspects of the upgrade. This will include:
- develop/co-ordinate a rollout timetable, create/maintain documentation, ensure all records are in accordance with MV’s policies and procedures, organise invoice settlement, update the leasing company’s asset database to ensure information is current and accurate, collate/manage the MVPC documentation, MV contact for the leasing company, respond to queries from staff, suppliers and the leasing company regarding all aspects of leasing.
The Business Manager position provides a key role in guidance and assistance in managing the budgeting and the financial processes and procedures for Digital and Emerging Technologies Department (DET). DET has the management of large budget and is responsible for the majority of the IT and telecommunications equipment and related services within the Museum.
This position is the key point of contact for DET’s invoicing and related issues emanating from MV’s finance department, staff and suppliers.
In this role there is extensive use of Excel, Magiq and several external databases.

- Well developed skills and demonstrated experience in administering and monitoring financial and administration systems.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Magiq and aptitude to quickly become competent in using external companies databases/applications.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and to plan and run a project.
