Dr Nurin Veis appointed Museums Victoria Acting Director, Collections & Research

Dr Nurin Veis

Dr Veis who has held the position of General Manager, Scienceworks since 2013 has a breadth of experience spanning research and curation.

Prior to 2013, Dr Veis was Museums Victoria Senior Curator, Human Biology and Medicine. As Senior Curator, Dr Veis worked on numerous exhibitions including The Human Body and The Mind at Melbourne Museum, as well as developing guidelines around ethical practice relating to the display of medical collections.

Dr Veis’ curatorial and research roles have included two ARC Linkage grants exploring multidisciplinary approaches to museum collections, and postdoctoral research into biochemical signals at Rockefeller University, New York.

We are thrilled that the significant work delivered by our research and collections division will continue under the leadership of Dr Nurin Veis.
