Expressions of interest – Casual Relief Teachers – Sovereign Hill Education, Costume Schools and/or Narmbool

The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a dynamic group of museums comprising of the Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Gold Museum and Narmbool. Our purpose at Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum is to inspire an understanding of the significance of the central Victorian gold rushes in Australia’s national story, and at Narmbool of the importance of the land, water and biodiversity in Australia’s future.

Expressions of Interest are sought from suitably qualified and experienced teachers for Casual Relief Teaching opportunities in all or any of the following areas. These positions require a reasonable level of physical fitness and much of the work will be outdoors. The ability to work Monday to Friday and at short notice is also necessary.

Sovereign Hill Education
Our education programs align with the Victorian Curriculum. We design and deliver face-to-face teaching programs tailored to suit the specific learning agendas of school groups and their teachers from Prep to VCE. If you are excited about the opportunity to dress up and teach primary and secondary students from all over Australia in our exciting outdoor museum, this position may be for you.

Costume School
This two day immersive experience highlights the vast differences between schooling on the 1850’s Victorian goldfields and education today. You will be trained to role-play a Headmaster or Headmistress delivering an authentic 1850s Irish National School Curriculum, supporting visiting schools in maximising their learning.
This teaching role requires you to be skilled in teaching, role play and managing student wellbeing and in effective communication with visiting teachers.

Narmbool
This position is for someone who is fit and keen to teach Science in an outdoor environment. Our education programs are immersive explorations of the unique environments on Narmbool and their past, present and future uses.
Our programs are suited to upper primary and lower secondary groups who visit on 2 day camps.
