Auckland War Memorial Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events and educational programmes. Auckland Museum is looking to appoint an experienced Programmer to join the Capital Projects and Programming directorate within the Learning and Engagement team. This role will be responsible for further developing the approved WW100 programme that includes exhibitions, events, commemoration and learning.
The key responsibilities for this position are:
- Programme planning, execution, monitoring and reporting in line with the museum’s approved WW100 programme
- Managing complex project teams to deliver high quality visitor experiences and events for the museum
- Facilitating co-development of content with external groups and managing complex stakeholder and community relationships
- Encouraging a blend of creativity and understanding of visitor needs that meet the overall institutional goals for the WW100 programme
- Resource, risk, issue and financial management.
The successful applicant must have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the creative or GLAM sector preferably with Museum experience
- Strong leadership skills alongside a collaborative approach, the ability to be creative and decisive
- Experience of facilitating co-development of content and partnership projects within a Museum or similar environment
- Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and to budget with high quality and widely accepted results
- Excellent planning and project management skills, along with a strong audience and collections focus
- Highly developed and effective oral and written communication skills
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
